Stitchefy

Turn a photo into a cross-stitch pattern — chart, floss list and printable PDF.

Everything happens on your own computer, in this page. Your photo is never uploaded anywhere.

How to use Stitchefy

  1. Add a photo. Drag one onto the box, or click to choose a file. Pictures with a plain, dark background work best — the background is detected and left unstitched so you only sew the subject.
  2. Choose a size. Stitches wide sets how much detail you keep: 80 is a good starting point, 120–160 holds noticeably more. Or pick Auto and a sensible small size is chosen for you.
  3. Adjust if you want to. Change the number of colours, restrict the palette, tell it how to spot the background, or switch to the colourblind-friendly symbol set.
  4. Generate the pattern, then download the printable PDF, the symbol chart, or the colour preview.
